Amanda Priestley

Hi! My name is Amanda and I'm an incoming Postdoc at King's College London working with Professor Guillaume Conchon—Kerjan in the Probability Group.

Until very recently, I was Ph.D. at UT Austin in the Theory Group, where I was extremely fortunate to be advised by Professors Evita Nestoridi and Kevin Tian.

In general, I am a probabilist that is interested in studying stochastic processes for sampling combinatorial structures, as well as modeling and analyzing combinatorial and physically motivated phenomena.

Personal Interests

I love listening to music of almost any genre, but especially 80's and 90's postpunk and goth music. Other genres I particularly love are metal, jazz, and shoegaze (or any combination of these). I don't like country or reggae though. A long time ago I used to draw and paint quite a lot, and I was also a ballet dancer in my past life. More recently I've been practicing contortion.
